ZAI in the Community

Monday, December 11, 2017

ZAI recently completed a community service project on behalf of Food For Others (FFO), a local food bank. Corporate staff assembled 300 Power Packs, which are provided by FFO to underserved elementary-aged children in Fairfax County each Friday. Each Power Pack contains an assortment of non-perishable food items—two breakfast items, two lunch items, two dinner items, two snacks, and two drinks. Without the food provided in the Power Packs, some of the recipient children may not eat between lunch at school on Friday and breakfast at school on Monday.

ZAI donated more than $2,000 worth of food (861 pounds) used to assemble the 300 Power Packs. Employees helped as they were able throughout the day, stocking each station, assembling the Power Packs, quality checking the Power Packs, and bagging them for delivery for FFO. Special thanks to Kirstin Mercer for coordinating ZAI’s contribution effort. And many thanks to Quality Logo Products, a company we use for marketing giveaways, which donated 250 reusable grocery bags for us to deliver the food packs to FFO.
